While I was writing this song, I attempted to channel the feeling of taking something that doesn’t belong to you, or was never supposed to be yours because of the rise you get out of it, inherently driven by selfishness. The distorted vocal processing complimented the warped, dark basses in turn making the song cast a morose shadow over the listener. I felt like I tried a lot of new things while making this track specifically directed in a heavier style than what I usually make. This is one of my favorite vocal tracks to date and a song that really kick started the vision for the album as a whole. I feel as if this song embodies the majority of the album and I knew from the start that this song specifically was going to hold weight as a first release/introduction.
